Happy weekend! I took this photo in downtown LA earlier this week because I loved the building. They sure don't make them like they used to. Spending time downtown always reminds me that I live in a city. I love to imagine the street cars of the 20's and people dressing up to go to one of the many deco theaters. Sadly most of those theaters have turned in to cheap clothing shops or electronics stores, but a few beauties still remain.

Beautiful building! Reminds me one in Portland downtown.
ReplyDeleteI always think it would be amazing to buy a building that's old and has character, and make it into something awesome. A great loft and business, or something like that. I hate seeing abandoned building that could be great again.

Beautiful. I used to work in an old building just like this one in Montreal that had been repurposed into offices. It has so much character!
ReplyDeleteIt makes me sad too. But have you seen the old theater in Studio City that was turned into a Barnes & Noble (Ventura/Laurel Canyon)? It's pretty cool.
ReplyDeleteI imagine the same thing. Have a happy weekend!

Gorgeous! Have a great weekend!!!!
ReplyDeleteThe image was still loading and I already knew exactly what building this was! I was in LA a few weeks ago and spent a lot of time in the Warehouse District, my favorite part of the city. So many beautiful buildings.
ReplyDeleteLovely blog, by the way! I just so happen to stumble upon it this morning. :) Bookmarking!
I love downtown LA! It's strangely quiet and deserted to me. Have you visited Angel's Knoll?

That building is amazing, I really should get my act together and head downtown; I've been living on the Westside for the last 5 months and as there is so much here, I have not actually been to downtown LA yet!
ReplyDeleteBeautiful building! I agree, they don't make 'em like that anymore. It totally reminds me of the building in New Girl though :)
ReplyDeletei agree. i spend alot of time in downtown admiring the old buildings. the old bank district has so many historical buildings that are falling apart. i really wish the city took a stronger initiative to preserve the buildings.
